Quick Vastu verdict for converting this into an office in Nepal

This layout is office-friendly because:

  • Staircase sits toward the North-West side (acceptable, movement zone)
  • Main entrance is on the East side (generally positive for growth, visibility, new opportunities)
  • SW room exists (excellent for owner, director, leadership cabin)
  • Bathroom is on the West side (acceptable zone for the toilet)

Main concern:

North-east zone is currently used for parking. North east should ideally stay the lightest and cleanest zone. Parking is not “wrong” if it stays open, airy, and uncluttered, but avoid making north east heavy with storage, generator, scrap, or closed cabin blocks.

Zone-wise findings and what to do

1) East side

Finding

  • Main door is on the East, which is good for an office. This entrance is called a Vijaya Dwar. (Victory Door). East is linked to the rising Sun, so it is believed to bring new opportunities, visibility, and growth.
  • An East-facing entry is said to support clear thinking, faster progress, and strong external support. That is why Vastu often calls it a “victory door” because it symbolizes winning energy and forward momentum.

Suggestions

  • Make this the only primary entry for the owners, staff and clients (avoid using kitchen entry as main access).
  • Place reception and waiting just inside the entrance, preferably towards the NE side of the sitting area.
  • Keep the entrance area bright, clean, and open. Avoid shoe racks, dustbins, or heavy cabinets near the main door.

2) North-East

Finding

  • North east is used as parking area (open porch type).

Vastu impact

  • North-east is the zone of clarity, reputation, opportunities, and smooth flow.
  • Parking is acceptable only when it remains open, light, and clutter-free.

Suggestions

  • Keep North east corner as open as possible. Do not store boxes, inventory, scrap, old banners, or tools here.
  • Avoid placing inverter, battery, generator, heavy electrical panels in NE.
  • If possible, park slightly away from the exact NE corner so the corner stays light.
  • Best use of North-east inside the office: reception, client waiting, puja corner, water element (small and clean).

3) South-East (A zone of fire element)

Finding

  • Kitchen sits in South east zone. This is actually the best zone for pantry and fire elements.

Office conversion

  • Convert this into pantry, tea, snacks, and staff refresh zone.

Suggestions

  • Keep microwave, induction, kettle in the SE part of the pantry.
  • Water purifier can go more towards North or East wall of the pantry area, not in the SE corner.
  • Use light warm shades here (cream, light orange tones).

4) South-West room

Finding

  • Room in South west is ideal for owner cabin. (Director or CEO)

Suggestions

  • Make Owner or Director Cabin.
  • Owner seating best:
    • Sit so you face North or East
    • Keep a solid wall behind the chair
  • Place heavy storage, files, safe locker in the southwest corner
  • Safe door should open towards North

North-West room

Finding

  • North West is a movement and people zone. Staircase here is acceptable.
  • The North west room is great for spaces with activity.

Suggestions

  • Use this as a :-
    • Meeting or conference room
    • Sales, marketing, business development
    • Interview room
  • Keep this area active, not silent storage.

6) Toilet and bath

Finding

  • Toilet is placed on the West side, which is generally acceptable.

Suggestions

  • Keep toilet door closed, ventilation strong.
  • Do not place temple or pantry sharing the same wall.
  • Keep this zone clean and dry. Avoid leaks.

7) Central area

Finding

  • The central area is relatively open. This is good because the Brahmasthan should not be overloaded.

Suggestions

  • Use this as:
    • Open workstation zone
    • Collaboration area
  • Avoid placing heavy cupboards or storage exactly in the center.
  • Keep pathways open from entrance to work area.
